Job Summary: BDO is seeking an experienced consultant to support Data Analytics and Process Automation at a level in line with federal financial audit and accounting professional standards. The ideal candidate for this role must know how to operate and maintain existing data analytic scripts designed in Audit Command Language (ACL). Job Duties:
- Uses data analytics tools to enhance IT testing methodologies and processes
- Leads, develops, and executes data driven control tests to identify patterns, anomalies, key variables, and relationships
- Develops data analytics in a software platform to implement the design
- Designs, develops, and implements data analytics to improve and remediate internal controls and data quality across business processes.
- Verifies data sets and documentation of identified limitations or risks to the data sets, methods for reconciling missing or inconsistent information, follow-up on procedures employed, and methods to update data analytic scripts or reports
- Operates and maintains existing data analytic scripts designed in Audit Command Language (ACL):
- Revises the logic and data analytic reports to identify potential instances of data anomalies
- Designs new data analytic scripts and reports in ACL, to to collect, classify, analyze, and interpret data to reveal patterns, anomalies, key variables and relationships
- Develops automation scripts in UiPath Studio, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar software applications, that can ultimately transition to the end-user and run independently
- Develops transition scripts to end-users via an orderly process, to include training, and provide ongoing user support and maintenance for automation scripts
- Develops dashboards that, at minimum, visually communicate if analytics and RPA designed and deployed are working and achieving the goals of risk reduction, workload reduction, and increased passing test results
- Provides professional project management services to enable the government to plan, prioritize, implement timely, monitor, and report accurately on the status of data analytics development and operations and robotic process automation development and maintenance
- Manages and oversees daily development, operation, and maintenance of automated solutions and assist process owners with identifying effective solutions and developing those solutions into appropriate level project milestones, tracking action items from remediation meetings, and provides status information and reports to proactively identify remediation challenges and status reports to executive leadership
- Identifies appropriate information systems test of operating effectiveness testing and provides insight into potential information systems risks while testing information system security
- Leads and/or participates in walkthrough meetings while taking detailed notes and identifying and documenting controls
- Leads and/or participates in the performance of audit work for specific information systems
- Delivers a full range of services that uses their educational background, experience, and organizational skills while serving BDO's dynamic public sector client base
- Adapts to a changing client environment while meeting client expectations
- Manages priorities and works effectively to initiate correspondence and task completion and supports multiple efforts through flexible multi-task coordination
- Provides summary recommendations to team leadership regarding assigned work stream
- Applies fundamental industry knowledge and standards to support client reviews, improvements, and/or implementations
- Communicates and maintains relationships with key client personnel to ensure shared understanding of processes, operations, and functions
- Prepares presentations, briefings, and actively participates in client meetings and day-to-day interactions
- Communicates with team management through effective status reporting and demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned task areas and work products
- Establishes professional rapport with clients and other organizations
- Reviews work products for technical accuracy, deliverable quality, and overall value to the client
- Attends relevant training, seminars, and/or conferences to stay current with technical skills that align with client's needs and changes in the industry
- Supports recruiting efforts by identifying potential candidates and participating in interviews

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Process Automation, Accounting, or Finance, preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of data analytics and process automation experience in federal financial audit and accounting professional standards and information technology, required
- Experience maintaining existing data analytic scripts designed in Audit Command Language (ACL), required
- Experience using data analytics, required
- Experience performing IT audits and/or assessments of internal controls over financial reporting, IT, grants, insurance, or IT Security in the Federal Government, preferred
- Experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: federal accounting standards and the US Standard General Ledger (USSGL), FISCAM, Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), NIST, and OMB Circular A-123, preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Ability to obtain and maintain government agency suitability or security clearance, required
- Relevant industry certification, such as CPA, PMP, CGFM, CDFM, CIA, or CISA, preferred
Software:
- Proficiency in the use of Audit Command Language (ACL) or similar data analytics tools, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), required
- Proficiency in the use of automation scripts in UiPath Studio, Microsoft Power Automate, Visual Basic, SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar software applications, required
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $105,000 - $125,000
Maryland Range: $105,000 - $125,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $105,000 - $125,000
