JOB SUMMARY |
The Safety Manager is responsible for upholding the Safety-First culture at Loy Clark Construction through training, accountability and modeling proper safety protocol. Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy: Employees | Value | Execution | Relationships

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- 3-5 years construction safety experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
|
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- Underground electrical, communication and/or natural gas utility construction experience preferred.
|
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES |
- Requires strong management skills, analytical and conflict management, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
- Knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is important.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and supervisory skills are very important.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, local, and company safety guidelines, rules and regulations required.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management/supervisory/field personnel.
- Assist in the development and execution of the annual strategic plan.
- Monitors compliance of various internal and external programs, projects, and policies to include;
- SiteDocs
- Azuga (telematics)
- ISN, Avetta, Jaggaer
- Train or arrange training for LCC field and office staff covering all required safety topics to include;
- Operational trainings and issues as they arise.
- Quarterly Stand-ups
- Annual Safety Summits
- Oversee the Safety Committee meetings.
- Perform crew visits, to include site safety inspections and report findings on safety reviews to operations.
- Inspect construction crews for compliance with company safety rules and regulations as well as all federal, state, and local agencies guidelines.
- Oversee the New Hire Safety Orientation training program.
- Conduct onsite Investigations for injury incidents, general liability claims and motor vehicle accidents.
- Gather photos and onsite information for claims reporting.
- Administrate Executive Event Review (EER) investigations.
- Conduct incident investigation training for field supervisors.
- Assist to further implement our damage prevention program.
- Administer overall LCC safety program, including recordkeeping requirements to include gathering statistics and figures for month/quarter/year-end reporting to Everus, OSHA, and clients as required.
- Document all incidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities, and report accordingly.
- Accompany OSHA safety and health compliance officers on walk through tours as required.
- Provide PPE and proper labels to all construction crews as required while visiting field crews.
- Verify personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Fire Resistant (FR) Clothing is stocked in remote yards to include distribution and delivery as needed.
- This position is required to drive.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
