MU Police Department Job Description
The Patrol Officer is a uniformed position and is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the community as well as university property by patrolling their assigned area by motor vehicle, bicycle, utility cart, or on foot to prevent, discover, and deter the commission of crime, enforce university rules and regulations, enforce state statutes and city ordinances, provide personal and property security, and traffic law enforcement. General Responsibilities:
Physical demands: Maintain the minimum physical abilities as related to job function and performance.
Shift
Shifts vary Generally: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm & 11pm-7am. There is options for working 10 hour shifts per supervisor approval. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. A valid Missouri operator's license (for positions at UMKC only, valid Kansas operator's license acceptable). Missouri POST certification may be required prior to employment, but it is required once job is started. Preferred Qualifications
