Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join VHB in support of our IT Team, clients, vendors, and employees. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to work and partner with an experienced team of IT professionals providing cyber security support, training and awareness while advancing both traditional and unconventional ways to detect, analyze, and mitigate potential intrusions and other security incidents.

Responsibilities

    Investigate security incidents and respond to event alerts in real-time, escalate when necessary.
  • Write detailed alert/incident response reports.
  • Basic initial research on vulnerabilities based on the corporate environment and perform periodic basic red team exercises.
  • Threat hunting and remediation.
  • Ability to multitask throughout the day with availability after-hours and weekends as required.
  • Assist in policy making.
  • Work Incident Response and support tickets.
  • Perform and develop data mining queries using SEIM tools.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner with leadership, customers, and peers.
  • Monitor and respond to service ticket inquiries and security operations dashboards for alerts.
  • Provide vulnerability, threat, and risk mitigation support.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate scenarios and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Understand the current cyber threat landscape and cyber risk within enterprise environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience with SIEM tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning coordination/remediation workflows and model tuning.
  • A calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing requirements, and apply new knowledge to real-world problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or minor in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
  • 1-2 years of IT experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender 365 security tools - Kusto scripting, PoSH, and network monitoring tools
  • Experience in large and complex business environments
