Job Description
ECU Department of Student Involvement & Leadership is seeking several student assistants. The Ledonia Wright Cultural Center student assistant positions are open to full-time undergraduate students, and full-time graduate students. The purpose of the employment is to offer students meaningful work and educational experiences. Students will help with the general up keeping of the office to ensure it's neat and ready for meetings/events. Students will represent the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center at various information fairs and programs and share information on the programs and services for students offered by the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center. Students will maintain a professional demeanor and help to maintain the office throughout the semester. Students will support the creation and implementation of programs/events/services provided by the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center.
General responsibilities:
1. Assist with answering phones
2. Run errands as needed
3. Filing
4. Making copies and faxing upon request
5. Welcoming visitors into the office
6. General knowledge of the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work with others
2. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
3. Ability to assist in program/event planning from concept to production
4. Adherence to deadlines and budget
5. Willingness to contribute to the overall operation of the LWCC
6. Ability to generate, share and follow through on creative ideas
Essential Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to utilize computer workstation for the majority of the workday
2. Use of telephone and fax machine
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
1. Excellent oral and written communication skills
2. Strong organizational and computer abilities.
3. Ability to work well with others
Preferred Skills:
Successful candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be detail-driven and organized, and be flexible and comfortable with a fast-paced working environment.
