Elwyn is currently seeking a Special Projects Manager (SPM) to manage and execute a wide variety of projects across the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Children's, and Adult Behavioral Health service lines with an emphasis on quality improvement processes, protocols and policies that are critical to adherence with regulations and compliance with accreditation standards. This role works closely with the VP and the Executive Directors of Quality Improvement (QI) to provide support, collaboration, and strategic vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Designs and implements projects in conjunction with the VP of QI, Executive Directors of QI and QI team members to monitor compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and contractual requirements. Projects include but are not limited to: creating an efficient policy management system; drafting new policies and reviewing existing policies; managing the development and implementation of trainings on policies for all employees and volunteers with utilization of Elwyn's learning management system; establishing protocols and training for operationalizing new and existing policies; summarization of policies for ease of training and communication of policy changes; writing of questions to test understanding of policies; drafting corrective action plans when necessary to respond to non-compliance with accreditation standards, regulations or payor contracts.
- Develops and implements quality improvement protocols, processes and procedures including providing high-level, clear, and concise communication to Leadership Team Members on existing and newly developed policies and protocols across all programs
- Performs programmatic and organizational monitoring activities and data analysis to identify areas needing improvement and assists VP and Executive Directors of QI to communicate the trends identified in the data to Leadership Team Members and Board members during committee meetings.
- Assists the VP and Executive Directors of QI with analyzing abuse risk management data and engaging in strategic planning and implementation of internal programs to respond to abuse risk management data. Analyzes current workflows and procedures with an eye toward quality and the safety of the individuals served and/or supported by Elwyn. Communicates abuse risk management trends and quality improvement trends to a variety of audiences. Monitors corrective action plans addressing incidents of abuse.
- Assists the Executive Directors of QI and program personnel with strategic planning and preparing for accreditation and licensing inspections.
- Provides support to programs in the implementation of department programmatic projects including but not limited to projects related to performance-based contracting
- Collaborates with the IT Department to automate processes and develop dashboards to analyze data.
- Guides root cause analysis (RCA) discussions, as necessary, and generates clear action steps following such discussions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years' experience working in programs supporting people with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in residential or community-based settings.
- Three (3) years' experience in meeting compliance requirements of licensing entities, payors, and accreditation agencies
- One (1) year experience in drafting, editing, and managing policies
- Experience in preparing for organizational committee-level meetings, including Board committee preparation, preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Knowledge of applicable regulations related to serving individuals in the states where Elwyn operates
- Experience utilizing and implementing technology solutions such as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred
- Ability to develop and implement plans related to program initiatives such as creating protocol manuals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong data analysis skills
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
- Demonstrated ability to work with administrative team to create and/or revise procedures, workflow processes as needed to support implementation of strategic plans
- Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
- Demonstrated creativity in developing solutions to program problems
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and prioritize given tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and also work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
