Position Summary: The AmeriCorps Program Manager will support with the management of the Children's Aid VISTA program, including but not limited to recruiting, training and monitoring/managing VISTAs and their supervisor's/host sites; overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of VISTAs and providing general support to new and existing Bronx Impact initiatives, events and projects

Essential Duties:

Administrative



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures
  • Liaise with the Northeast Regional Office of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS);
  • Support Senior Manager with the selection process of VISTA host sites and work with the selected sites to develop work plans and deliverables for their VISTA positions
  • Support with the renewal process of the VISTA sponsor renewal application
  • Plan and execute a program year-end celebration event for VISTAs;
  • Manage general VISTA sponsor administrative tasks including but not limited to weekly sponsor verifications;


Supervision



  • Hold quarterly Host Site Meetings with assigned VISTAs and their supervisors to formally review VISTA progress on performance measures, collect and provide feedback, and address any issues that need attention;
  • Monitor VISTAs and supervisors/host sites for any inappropriate activities/policy infractions and support the Manager of Resources and Outreach in addressing those issues;
  • Coordinate and support the facilitation of trainings, webinars, and service/networking activities for VISTAs and their supervisors;
  • Supervise the AmeriCorps VISTA Leader
  • Hold monthly check-in meetings/calls with assigned VISTAs and supervisors/host sites to gain more information about their activities and experiences, and to provide support, guidance, reminders, updates, and interventions as necessary;


Recruitment



  • Write AmeriCorps VISTA progress reports to CNCS
  • Provide general support to existing and future Bronx Impact capacity-building programs/projects
  • Support Senior Manager in continuing to develop relationships with Members and connect them to appropriate engagement activities and resources in the Bronx


Minimum Qualifications



  • Proven experience in managing AmeriCorps projects and/or leadership development cohort programs.
  • Skilled in developing and facilitating impactful trainings and workshops.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with government grants and ensuring compliance.
  • Adept at collaborating with a large network of external organizations on various projects.
  • Previous experience serving as an AmeriCorps member
  • Must possess a HS Diploma/GED/IEP preferred
