We are looking for a mission driven Sr. HR Generalist to join our team!
The Senior HR Generalist position is responsible for full-service human resources management for all OneWorld employees, under the oversight of the Human Resources Director for OneWorld. The Senior HR Generalist is the primary HR subject matter expert on the HR team, as well as the main point of contact for day-to-day questions and support associated with the interpretation, administration and compliance of HR-related policies, practices, and cases spanning the employment lifecycle.
This position will play a significant role in benefits administration, including but not limited to:
Benefits
- Manage the open enrollment process for annual employee benefits, ensuring the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the Human Resources Information System (ADP). Coordinates and distributes benefits enrollment materials to employees and determines eligibility.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, claim issues, status changes, life events, and other general inquiries. Review benefit elections as they come to Human Resources for errors. Resolve benefit errors with employees and/or benefit broker.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, contribution amounts, and loans. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment. Sends out quarterly enrollment information to employees. Manages 401k loan process with employees.
- Serves as a back up to processing and administrating all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork; i.e. medical, personal, disability, and FMLA. Effectively interprets FMLA as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Assists with filing and processing workers' compensation claims as needed.
- Effectively interprets ADA implications as they relate to disabilities for employees. Administers the interactive process for workplace accommodations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Four or more years of demonstrated Human Resources experience, preferably in employee relations and leave administration.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintaining knowledge of HR and organizational practices, procedures, policies, and systems to be able to respond to inquiries and provide information to employees.
- Knowledgeable of laws and regulations pertaining to FMLA, ADA, and Worker's Compensation.
- Demonstrated project and process management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication are required to effectively interact with associates at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to be open to new strategies and approaches; able to effectively cope with change and adapt as needed.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills (include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Computer skills: Adobe PDF, HRIS such as ADP, and HR Content Management systems.
- Adaptable to quick changes in work requirements; ability to move from one project to another as needed; exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under stressful situations and maintain an effective approach.
- Able to build effective relationships with internal and/or external customers to ensure expectations are exceeded.
- Able to focus one's time and efforts on the critical items needed to achieve business results.
- Willing and able to champion company objectives as their own.
- Willing to create and/or reengineer processes to help provide the highest quality product and services.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Maintains professional appearance and attire.
- Punctual and reliable attendance at the assigned work location.
