Purpose:

The Process Engineer role participates in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, development of process options and optimization of selected design. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Develops designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Responsibilities:



  • Implements, modifies, and maintains chemical processes..
  • Calculates and organizes data for process flow sheets including instrumentation and control considerations of operation, sizing and performance.
  • Models processes and facility unit operations.
  • Ensures proper sequence of operation.
  • Ensure adherence to client and/or company specifications, governing codes and standards, and good engineering practice.
  • Ensure adherence to client and/or company health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) requirements as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in the development of process engineering effort-hour estimates for proposed projects.
  • Monitor the schedule and ensure that project objectives are met, project controls are monitored and execution is within the approved budget.
  • Responsible for reporting on engineering status to the Project Manager and Department Manager, and performing monthly or bi-weekly assessments of progress.
  • Participate and contribute advanced level development of all phases of project engineering, including FEED, detail design and construction support.
  • Experience in development of facility drawings, checking/troubleshooting process equipment system designs and participation in hazard reviews.
  • Develops process flow diagram to define heat and material balance.
  • Prepares specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment/systems.
  • Develops process specifications, e.g. separation equipment, heat exchangers, treating equipment, chemical treatment systems and fired heaters.
  • Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Participates and supports development for Process Hazard Analysis events
  • Directs activities to ensure that installation and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • 7-10 years of applications engineering experience, and 4+ years lead role or related experience with engineering design of oil and gas production (upstream) facilities, equipment specifications and safety systems (API 14C).
  • Experience with facility simulation software for oil and gas process systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • P.E. License required.

  • Recognized Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.


Preferred:



  • Related technical field from an accredited college or University required.
