Senior Director, Accounting & Reporting

Position Overview:
The Senior Director, Accounting & Reporting will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position will oversee public reporting, payroll, inventory management, corporate accounting, internal controls, and enterprise risk management, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented financial professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Public Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and filing of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
    • Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Inventory Accounting:
    • Manage the accounting for inventory, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
    • Collaborate with operations to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Corporate Accounting:
    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
    • Conduct regular audits of financial processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Enterprise Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks within the organization.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Payroll & Benefits Management:
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and compliance with applicable regulations.
    • Monitor payroll-related expenses and support payroll reconciliations.
  • ESG Initiatives:
    • Support the development and implementation of ESG strategies and reporting.
    • Monitor compliance with ESG-related regulations and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on public reporting and corporate accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience with ASC 606 & 842
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ESG principles and reporting frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience with a large ERP like Oracle or SAP is a plus

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
