JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University Altoona College invites applications for a Teaching Faculty appointment to a non-tenure track position in Mechanical Engineering, beginning in Fall 2025 or when agreed upon. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in support of the Mechanical Engineering program, advise and mentor undergraduate students, and participate in all aspects of the program's activities, including service to the program, division, university, community, and profession. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty dedicated to ensuring the highest quality education for Altoona students while also encouraging individual growth, cultural awareness, ethical decision-making, and civic responsibility. Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to continually develop as a teacher are critical. The position will be filled at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor depending on education and experience. The position is for a one-year appointment with excellent possibility of renewal. Candidates must have a graduate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field by the time of the appointment. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to undergraduate education, curricular development, and assessment. Candidates with prior teaching and/or relevant industrial experience are preferred.
