As the writer for a thriving - and growing - team in the Institutional Retirement division of Capital Group, you will play a critical role in a program designed to engage retirement plan participants and help them plan for a better retirement. You will collaborate with team members to help develop strategies that target different groups of participants and align with business goals, and then write original content, conducting necessary research and developing creative messaging that will engage and inspire. Primary responsibilities/Essential functions
- Collaborate with a team of marketing and communications professionals in a highly collaborative environment to develop original content that meets program and client objectives, while adhering to Capital Group's standards for creative excellence.
- Write content for our participant engagement program, including but not limited to, email messages, interactive digital content and videos.
- Translate complex concepts into entertaining and compelling audience-appropriate communications.
- Partner with designers and a copyeditor throughout the content development cycle.
- Synthesize input from sources with diverse perspectives to create content representative of collective contributors. May provide rationale for content decisions to senior staff.
- Adhere to program, style, and legal and compliance guidelines. Will interact with the Legal team through approval stages.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and act as the primary contact for each project throughout the development and approval cycles.
- Articulatethe value of our participant engagement program to prospects and clients for use in the sales and onboarding processes.
- Perform other additional responsibilities as assigned.

- You demonstrate exemplary writing skills with emphasis on creativity to help appeal to different audience segments, simplify complex concepts and inspire action.
- You demonstrate a working knowledge of proper spelling, punctuation and grammar, and can apply it to work assignments. An understanding of AP Style is a plus.
- You have experience writing digital and video communications.
- You have the ability to manage multiple projects at once and plan processes to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner.
- You demonstrate initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions. You also demonstrate sound judgement in resolving matters of high complexity.
- You demonstrate the ability to take ownership of assigned projects and act as the primary contact for each project throughout the development and approval cycles.
- You demonstrate the ability to collaborate and develop/maintain relationships within Capital Group.
- You demonstrate effective oral communications skills to present ideas and work to a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders.
- You have knowledge of the retirement plan industry preferred. Experience with participant communications a plus.
- You can adhere to program, style, and legal and compliance guidelines. You will interact with the Legal team through approval stages.
New York Base Salary Range: $110,221-$176,354
Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $103,977-$166,363
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
