JOB TITLE:Graphic &Video Content Specialist

LOCATION: FULLY REMOTE

ROLE DESCRIPTION:Part Time 20 hours a week, needs to be available during the day for meetings

START DATE: after Thanksgiving

DURATION: ongoing contract, could be over one year or longer.

PAY RATE: $30-$32/hr W2 commensurate on experience

SUMMARY:

Ideally this person would have a bit more video experience but would also have experience and conformability in design, illustration and some animation. Video creation experience for socials, or at least more modern video short-form formats, as opposed to traditional long format video would be ideal.

It would also be helpful if they have experience in working as a part of a holistic content strategy. Much of the work we do on this front is rooted in comprehensive story-telling across our channels. Our social, content and visual production teams all worth together to tell our stories. A core part of this roll will be taking our "words on a page" and creating rich media and multimedia assets to supplement and help tell those stories.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares the imagery for use, including cropping, editing, colorizing etc. as needed. Using Getty images

  • Will create animation graphics, infographics, gifs

  • Must have strong Photoshop ability, ideally InDesign and Illustrator. Will pick hero images

  • Detail-oriented

  • Good sense of design, aesthetic

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design / marketing would be ideal

  • CMS Production work is natural step to making content live

  • Able to navigate digital tool of any sort

  • Task driven production, admin work (20% of the role)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Researches and curates third-party images or stock imagery, as needed, to incorporate into content (articles, slideshows, listicles, etc.)

  • Secures image permissions on third-party imagery curated by various sources.

  • Prepares the imagery for use, including cropping, editing, colorizing etc. as needed.

  • Obtains image rights / permissions from 3rd parties as needed.

  • Obtains high-res versions from image owners.

  • Tracks image permissions in detail in image logs.

  • Uploads and notates images to media library and database records (including inputting meta information such as subject matter, photographer, filename, permission type).

  • Does CMS production work for all types of content (slideshows, articles, listicles, etc.), including creating pages, entering content, updating content, proofreading final content, cropping and uploading images.

  • Reads content and meets with writers to support the image search process.

  • Assists with other functions as needed.

  • Participates in editorial planning, brainstorming and pitch ideas.

  • Participates in editorial team status meetings.

  • Knowledge of typical media editing tools (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)

  • This is mainly imagery driven but they are also moving toward the creation of more video (short form), gifs, infographics, etc. so comfortability in any related programs to edit or create new assets is key.

  • Someone who is organized with a keen eye

  • 2-4 years of experience ideal
