We're looking for an Open Shop Construction Manager to join our Day & Zimmermann team in support of a coal plant project in Fremont, NE.

As the Construction Manager here's the work you'll do:

Serve as the principal customer contact for strategic business development opportunities.

* Champion the organization's commitment to safety and demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety and D&Z values by providing leadership and establishing expectations and accountability related to the execution of an effective Customer and D&Z safety program across the entire Business Line.

* Recruit and hire team members to support the businesses growth in construction management and site supervision roles.

* Conduct tactical reviews of the site work plans to ensure adequate organizational resources are prioritized and deployed to support the contract requirements.

* Ensure effective project and contract management governance, procedures, tools and financial controls are established and maintained.

* Effectively partner with functional areas via the appropriate Project Support Team to achieve shared goals, resolve conflicts, and establish/promote best practices and process improvement.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:

* Technical/Industry Expertise: 10+ years background in estimating and executing construction projects for an open shop contractor in Industrial markets (chemical/pulp & paper/mfg). Strong knowledge and experience in project management and project controls is a must. Experience managing open shop direct craft labor and subcontractors is also required. Understanding of PSM (process safety management) a plus.

* Operations Savvy: Action oriented; can be counted on to consistently exceed goals; bottom-line oriented; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; pushes others for results and holds them accountable; sets business/account strategy and works through others to achieve results; maintains big-picture view of key projects and initiatives without getting lost in the details.

* Business/Financial Acumen: Understands how the business works including drivers of cost and revenue; able to understand and work with key financial measurements to analyze the business; able to develop actions to correct financial performance and/or develop new business; knows the marketplace and understands how business strategies and tactics impact marketplace perception.

* Builds Strategic Client Relationships: Develops and sustains effective long-term business relationships with people to create value

* Communicates with Impact: Clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action.

And if you have these qualifications:

* 10+ years of experience planning/executing maintenance and project work in the Industrial market

* Willingness to travel as required to support Day & Zimmermann Industrial operations.

* Demonstrated experience managing open shop foreman, superintendents, and craft laborers. Craft networking a plus

* Experience with cost management/project controls with a comprehensive understanding of Fixed-Price contracts.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office and experienced with reading construction drawings

* Motivation to open new doors and the desire to see your results on the bottom line.

* Strong Boiler and mechanical background

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is 95,000 - 171,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes)
