Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies

Job Description

  • Assist Senior Research Specialist of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies in all aspects of laboratory work including but not limited to making formwork, pouring concrete setups
  • Perform maintenance of the laboratory and laboratory equipment (repairs, adjusts or replaces equipment as necessary)
  • Clean up laboratory areas on a daily basis
  • Stock inventory supplies; responsible for the issuance of tools, materials, instruments and devices to students
  • Assist with supply orders for student research projects and stock laboratory materials
  • Perform other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the following areas:
    • Carpentry work
    • Pouring concrete
    • Use and repair of power tools
    • Welding
  • Ability to assist in carrying out laboratory work pertaining to construction materials preparation and testing
  • Possess and utilize broadened technical knowledge and skill in operational processes to perform a defined array of activities pertaining to construction materials testing
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis
  • Valid Missouri driver's license in order to drive University work trucks
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 to $18.00 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
