DESCRIPTION

Lifesharing is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to fill a critically important position in the Transplant Community. The position of Administrator On Call (AOC) is an exciting, unique, and pivotal role in the world of health care, offering the qualified individual a challenging work life with a primary focus on saving and extending lives. Administrators on call participate and lead process development projects that are in alignment with the organization's mission. AOCs also collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and seamless coordination of organ and tissue donation process.

AOC RESPONSIBILITIES?

* Provides real-time direction and guidance to staff for the identification and evaluation of referrals for potential organ donors. Supports and supervises the authorization, clinical management, organ allocation, and surgical recovery processes directed towards maximizing every organ donation opportunity.

* Provides regulatory oversight and verification of critical aspects of the donation process such as brain death documentation, hemodilution, additional risk status, infectious disease testing results, allocation variances, and transplant center/surgeon issues.

* Proactively engages with staff to provide thorough, in-depth guidance utilizing highly developed clinical expertise and advanced knowledge of the organ donation process. Advises staff when working through operational challenges by providing mentoring, talking points, and coaching.

* Provides resource management and direction to the clinical teams to manage day-to-day operations and in response to clinical activity. Effectively oversees clinical activity to ensure proper staffing, and appropriate case timing. Maintains awareness of high potential referrals to ensure optimal use of available resources and thoughtfully utilizes available staff.

* Must be highly motivated, flexible, and a good team member with a positive attitude to develop clear goals and expectations for team members who reflect the mission and vision of the organization.

* Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to have effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with a variety of people and personalities.

* Ensure all documentation related to authorization is complete, accurate, and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

* Stay up to date with changes in organ and tissue donation laws and regulations.

* Ability to prioritize remote work (computer and smart phone) to accomplish the goals for all active donors and referrals with the goal of meeting the needs of all stakeholders

* Serves as senior leader for any clinical or operational issues in need of resolution during their shift. Interfaces with Lifesharing Directors for any issues needing further escalation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • 3 years Organ Procurement Experience.

  • One year previous AOC experience.

  • Leadership experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Tier One OPO experience.
  • Preferred Intensive Care Unit nursing experience.
  • Member of a national organization such as AOPO, NATCO, or the Alliance.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Requires travel to home base 2-3 per year.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
