This is a part time position working 15-20 hours per week, not to exceed 29 hours per week and 1000 hours per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Primary duties include logistics, transport, delivery, and set-up of items for various area events scheduled throughout Bluebonnet's 14-county electric service territory
  • Communicate and coordinate with community event leaders prior to and during an event.
  • The ability to maneuver large items in areas specified, frequent standing, walking, use of hands and arms, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling may be necessary and exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to outside weather conditions may be expected.
  • Safely and timely transport, deliver, load and unload items to and from area community events, including, but not limited to bottled water, Port-a-cool fans and/or cooling trailers that contain a Port-a-cool fan and associated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate time schedule and delivery and equipment availability schedules in coordination with Bluebonnet's Community Representatives in accordance with their expectations, maintaining communication as required, safe driving practices, and integrity of items being transported and all external factors that affect safe transport of items.
  • Follow and adhere to Bluebonnet's Safety Manual and procedures, including but not limited to walk around checks of the vehicle and equipment before and after hauling and setting up.
  • Demonstrate, through behavior, Bluebonnet's Foundation Values of Safety, Courage, Respect, Reliability, Community and Love, and maintain security and proper handling of items and equipment transported.
  • Maintain care and cleanliness of vehicle and equipment at all times.
  • Operate Bluebonnet vehicles within the laws of the State of Texas and adhere strictly to Texas Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards. Promptly report repair issues affecting proper use and safe operation of vehicles and equipment assigned.
  • Notify Supervisor of any traffic tickets or accidents immediately, and communicate any discrepancies or irregularities to Bluebonnet's management.



Education and Experience:



  • Must have at least 6 months' safe driving experience and complete knowledge of vehicle/trailer operation and connections
  • High School diploma or equivalent



License and Certification:



  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
  • Must have a clean driving record.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to resolve basic delivery problems
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of areas in Bluebonnet's 14-county service territory and ability to read maps and follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to operate trailers and set-up the fans for optimal working efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner; focused on improvement or problem resolution in a constructive, positive, and professional manner.



Tools and Equipment Used:



  • May be required to drive a cooperative vehicle



Physical Demands:



  • Regular lifting and/or moving more than 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, use of hands and arms, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Driving for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
  • Sufficient vision abilities that are required by this job; close vision, distant vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Available to work after hours and on weekends.
