This opportunity is located within our AFB International business, the global science and technology leader in pet food palatability. We develop and produce a full range of liquid and dry palatability enhancers using high-quality ingredients proven to optimize companion animal response and consumption. Job Description Summary Provides quality support and coordination of quality efforts at the manufacturing site by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conduct in-process quality observations, ensure processes are being followed per procedure, identify areas for improvement. Research, investigate, and resolve quality related issues. Perform risk-based analysis of non-conforming products Support operations by training and developing employees on food safety, quality and environmental topics and programs. Monitor and maintain food safety and HACCP Programs in compliance with SQF certification requirements. Including Master Cleaning Schedules, Batch records and GMP compliance. Investigate food safety incidents and CCP deviations for root cause and ensure sustainable corrective action. Participate on cross-functional food safety team, ensure food safety audits are conducted at specified frequencies with timely and sustainable corrective actions implemented. Update and/or develop SOPs related to Operations, Food Safety, and Quality as required. Support all aspects of the quality team involving food safety, pest control, plant sanitation, safety and quality procedures. Implement food safety policies and quality programs as needed. Responsible for ensuring GMP requirements are adequately met and maintained at the facility. Maintain Quality records and documentation, assist in preparing for third party audits, customer audits and inspections. Assist with maintaining GFSI certification including but not limited to aligning policies and procedures to standards, preparing plants for audit, and participating during certification process.
