The Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. Under general supervision of the Director for Training, Education and Research Collaborations at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center (MCC), the Cancer Training and Education Program Manager is responsible for the administrative management, planning, coordination and operations of multiple cancer research training and education programs within MCC. These include our NCI Cancer Center Support Grant-funded Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) and NCI-funded T32 programs. Act as a key liaison between the Cancer Center's Research Administration office and all entities within and outside UCSD, including other UC academic institutions and outside collaborators. Provide high-level professional project management, coordination and administrative support for organizational management and strategic planning to senior leaders in the Cancer Center requiring tact, diplomacy, and discretion on a wide variety of complex and sensitive issues. Serve as main point of contact for cancer-related career enhancement activities. Ensure appropriate interpretation of applicable guidelines related to training and education activities. Prepare research documents and grant applications following regulations and guidelines. Review procedures and data for use in grants, manuscripts, and presentations; identify publications, track references, and write sections of required research documents such as grant proposals and progress reports. Serve as lead for the programs supported and provide advanced service for scheduling, coordination, and operational needs including meetings, seminars, conferences, Continuing Medical Education (CME) symposia, social events, etc. related to training and educational activities in the Cancer Center. Track programmatic finances and work with fund manager to ensure accurate pay for trainees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
