About the Role:
Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Neurology Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic, a renowned center for the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of pediatric neuromuscular disorders. Under the direction of Dr. Jessica Nance, a leader in the field of pediatric neuromuscular diseases, the nurse practitioner will play an integral role in providing exceptional care to children with complex conditions such as muscular dystrophies, congenital and metabolic myopathies, Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, spinal muscular atrophy, peripheral neuropathy, pediatric brachial plexus injuries, and hypotonia.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside world-class specialists, including Dr. Nance and Dr. Tom Crawford, in a dynamic and supportive clinical environment that emphasizes patient-centered care, innovative research, and the advancement of clinical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to pediatric patients with neuromuscular disorders in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and management plans for a broad range of neuromuscular conditions.
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians, neurology specialists, physical therapists, geneticists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate families and patients about disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care protocols, clinical research studies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work with the team to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide counseling and support to patients and families on managing chronic conditions, coping strategies, and prognosis.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current, active Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification.
- Advanced practice experience in pediatric neurology, pediatric care, or neuromuscular disorders preferred.
- Strong clinical expertise and experience in pediatric assessments and care, particularly in neuromuscular or neurological specialties.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers.

Dr. Jessica Nance is a highly regarded specialist in pediatric neuromuscular disorders with a focus on inherited and complex conditions such as muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophy, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. After completing a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Nance continues to lead efforts to advance clinical care for children with neuromuscular diseases. Her background includes training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with Dr. Carsten Bonnemann and at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic with Dr. Tom Crawford, a pioneer in the field. Salary Range: Minimum 53.15 per visit - Maximum 82.38 per visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
