Suburban Hospital is a 228-bed, community-based, not-for-profit hospital serving Montgomery County and the surrounding area since 1943. The designated trauma center for Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and offers both complex and routine care for a range of specialties.

The Radiation Oncology Nurse provides quality nursing care to the patients in Radiation Oncology. The Radiation Oncology Nurse assesses, plans, implements, documents, and evaluates patient clinical and psychosocial needs and responses to therapeutic procedures. The Radiation Oncology Nurse provides education and psychosocial support to patients and families. Serves as a representative of the radiation oncology clinic and hospital environment as a clinical role model in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, physicians, colleagues, and other staff members.

Minimum Education and Experience:




  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program for Registered Nurses.
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the Maryland.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Two years of nursing required, oncology experience preferred.
  • ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate preferred. Must have completed the ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Course within 30 months of hire unless an extension by the nurse manager or designated leader.
  • Current CPR Certification required.



Position Details:




  • Radiation Oncology
  • PRN Days; 8 or 10 hour shifts
  • No weekends, no evenings, no holidays


Salary Range: Minimum 53.02 per hour - Maximum 53.02 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
