Daikin Applied is seeking a Quality Engineer- Compressors. The Quality Engineer will ensure the quality of industrial processes, materials, and products. This position will be responsible for conducting quality reviews, detecting defects, planning quality improvements, assisting in Kaizen events, and training on quality topics with suppliers. Location: Staunton, VA - Onsite

What you will do:



  • Review design documentation for compliance with UL and ISO9001 requirements
  • Investigate customer/warranty quality concerns, and communicate with suppliers to ensure the quality and improve it
  • Document data obtained during quality reviews and use quality tools such as statistical process control (SPC), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), etc. for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production teams, and suppliers to solve quality non-conformities
  • Report significant concerns identified during quality assurance activities and recommendations for process improvement to management
  • Gather, analyze, and present technical information to team members and management utilizing Pareto Analysis, Frequency Distribution, and 5 WHY techniques
  • Regularly demonstrates competency in RCCA tools, methodology, and Poke-yoke level implementation in our Quality Clinics
  • Train QA personnel on quality topics including but not limited to ISO requirements, standard operating procedures, and Kaizen processes
  • Lead Kaizen events to solve quality problems
  • Review non-conformities discovered with purchased products or components and provide input on whether to accept the product
  • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, and test to ensure the quality of finished products once qualified by production

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5 years of relevant experience
