Responsible for building collaborative relationships with Nurse Managers, Associate Nurse Managers, Nursing Supervisors, Charge RN's, providers, ancillary leaders, and administration. Develops and implements plans to identify and mitigate impediments to efficient patient flow throughout the hospital system. Utilizes clinical skills, critical thinking, and collaborative decision making with others to increase patient flow. In collaboration with Renown Transfer and Operations Center (RTOC), proactively monitors daily flow within the hospital to identify and mitigate bottlenecks in patient flow. Works proactively with nursing units and ancillary departments to identify internal barriers to discharge and develop plans to mitigate delays. Utilizes tools and data within the electronic medical record (EMR) to enhance current processes related to efficient patient flow. Educates providers, staff, and Charge RNs on global patient flow issues in order to maximize the use of EMR based discharge readiness tools. Attends daily Patient Safety and Capacity huddle and Patient Flow Committee meetings. Attends Interdisciplinary Team rounds on nursing units weekly Collaborates with leadership on an ongoing basis to assess and improve flow plans. Skills required: * Ability to clearly articulate concepts and manage step-by-step details while keeping the larger picture in mind. * Experience in performance improvement initiatives * Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
