The importance this role has in our organization:

The Superintendent ensures the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. This position may supervise and coordinate various contractors to ensure contract compliance and will supervise and coordinate trade work. The Superintendent will report to the General Superintendent.

Your contribution will likely be:

    Provides input for the preparation and produces the project construction schedule. Advises supervisor of changes in the project construction that significantly impacts project schedule.
  • Prepares and maintains proper reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assures all layouts are correct.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Safety Director in enforcement and administration of safety policies and procedures. Superintendent holds primary responsibility for safety on his/her project site.
  • Informs supervisor of any labor disputes and/or personnel problems that might affect the company.
  • Supervises and maintains adequate and competent subcontractor labor crews. Schedules and coordinates activities of all subcontractors/vendors.
  • Schedules the routing and delivery of all materials. Assures all precautions are taken to prevent theft on job sites.
  • Schedules and co-chairs weekly construction meeting of subcontractors/vendors.
  • Reviews and approves all overtime work requests and obtains appropriate security clearances.
  • Maintains a daily recap of the day's events. Reviews with project manager on a daily basis.
  • Supervises subcontracted forces constantly to assure compliance with quality control program and minimal punch list.
  • Supervises subcontracted forces to develop pre-punched check off lists and assure timely completion before architect and owner develop their punch lists. Obtains client/architect signature on final punch list completion certificate.
  • Assists project manager or estimating manager by reviewing bid documents and estimates.
  • Reviews subcontractor/vendor invoices as requested by project manager and recommends approval/reduction/rejection.
  • Documents all field changes and as-built conditions to project manager.

Experience you will bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of field experience in a position with supervisory responsibility in commercial construction with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite - Word, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc. and Microsoft Project
  • Full working knowledge/experience in project scheduling and software platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-track project delivery environment without compromising quality of work.
  • Ability to supervise and manage labor crews - this includes maintaining the work schedule, being knowledgeable of people management best practices, and identify potential risks on site
  • Advanced knowledge of the English language - excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners
  • Working knowledge of building construction and basic building maintenance
  • Strong Customer service skills - must be able to interact professionally with tenants and subcontractors
  • Strong people management skills via providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to maintain a strong focus on attention to detail
  • Must be committed to continuous learning and growing within the organization

The budgeted salary range is $92,558 - $138,837.
