Advanced Education in General Dentistry, University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry Job Description
The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Department of Advanced Education in General Dentistry. The position is a non-benefit eligible, non-tenure track position at the rank of Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor. Hours will vary depending on the opportunity. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Serve as an attending faculty in the AEGD Residency to supervise residents in clinical sessions and approve planned treatment and treatment plans in Axium. * Provide guidance on complex restorative cases including diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaborations with other dental specialists as needed. o Discuss patient evaluation, treatment planning, management, complications, and outcomes of all cases with residents. o Provide hands-on guidance and interaction with restorative procedures that may include operative, fixed, removable, implant-supported or implant-retained restorations * Review the patient records assigned to the residents in each clinic session to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness. * Be familiar with and assist residents to utilize digital technologies and digital workflow that are part of the clinical curriculum * Evaluate residents' clinical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional development. * Provide periodic oral evaluations, order, and interpret radiographs and diagnose treatment for dental hygiene patients when the residents are in class or otherwise not available. * Assist with integrating new technologies and innovations in treatment into the clinical curriculum. * Lead by example in clinical practice, demonstrating best practices and professional ethics, and a high standard of patient care and safety. * Other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the AEGD Residency and SOD. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications * DDS/DMD or equivalent * Eligibility for Missouri Dental Licensure is required Preferred qualifications: * Certificate from an AEGD or GPR residency program * Experience with comprehensive, complex patient care Application Materials
