Job Summary

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the department. Promotes compliance of rules, regulations and laws regulating the practice of Pharmacy. Participates in personnel management. Participates in education of pharmacist staff members and PharmD students. Assists Director in budget and other fiscal issues.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes operating statement variances and provides reports to the director on a monthly basis.
  • Evaluates department procedures to assure conformance with applicable standards of practice on a regular basis; reporting that to the director if/when changes are required with a plan for implementation.
  • Identifies processes that can/should be modified or improved to increase efficiency.
  • Monitors QI processes to ensure that these meet the needs of regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in disciplinary processes; identifying issues, providing documentation and counseling employees as necessary.
  • Assists the Department Director/Manager in the effective fiscal management of the department.
  • Assists with the leadership of the department by effectively managing and supervising personnel, promoting a positive, professional attitude and ensuring a high quality of care.
  • Completes personnel performance appraisals according to personnel policies.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all pharmacist's operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
Certification - Pharmacist License - Accredited University or accredited training professionals

Preferred:
Experience - 3+ years of Supervisor Experience; 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Experience

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
