Additional Job Description:

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine - Eastern Campus seeks an Endocrinologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Berkeley and Jefferson County, WV at our Endocrinology and Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Health sites.

The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Health. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research

Qualifications: applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license and DEA. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in internal medicine. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and an endocrinology fellowship program by the time of appointment. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Berkeley and Jefferson Counties are located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia a little more than an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility to the Washington DC / Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle an ideal place in which to live. While our Berkeley County is among the fastest growing counties in the state, there is little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of urban professionals from nearby Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland - have contributed to the growth of local telecommuting and high-tech industries.
