Temporary IT Risk Analyst

Rockland Trust Company (the Bank) is currently seeking an IT Risk Analyst. As a member of the IT Risk Management Group, this candidate is expected to be a thought leader in the maturation of a risk management program, leveraging previous IT risk assessment experience.

The primary responsibility of the IT Risk Analyst is to conduct testing of various IT general controls and technology devices. This includes assessing control design and testing control operating effectiveness, among other tasks. The details of the testing performed will be documented in the Bank's system of record, and the results will be communicated to the relevant stakeholders. This role requires close collaboration with infrastructure teams to define and assess risks, evaluate control design, and test control operating effectiveness.

Responsibilities:



  • Actively participate in the development and enhancement of Bank-wide technology risk management programs by way of understanding regulations, rules, and requirements to which the Bank is subject, assessing risk against those standards, assessing control design against specified risks, and executing control operating effectiveness testing to determine overall control effectiveness as it relates to specific risks
  • Participate in initial interviews/walkthroughs with key stakeholders to establish understanding of controls that exist within the IT process to validate that relevant controls are accurately documented and inventoried
  • Participate in device testing by gathering specific information across various infrastructure components (networks, storage, voice, etc.) to allow for risk assessment, design assessment, and control operating effectiveness testing
  • Frequent close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, both IT and non-IT, to execute assigned duties, including walkthroughs, evidence gathering, and testing
  • Participate in the identification and assessment of proposed plans to remediate identified issues and/ or deficiencies identified during the process, and address other findings where necessary
  • Participate in the continuous improvement efforts of the IT Risk Management Team to enhance the risk management process and add value to the overall program
  • Demonstrate a proactive mindset for security education, awareness, and the IT environment
  • Assume other responsibilities, as needed, to fulfill the requirements of the IT Risk Team as they relate to priority items at the Bank


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
  • Financial services industry experience, or previous history of successfully navigating a highly regulated and matrixed environment
  • 3-5 years of internal or external technology audit or risk assessment experience, including design assessment and control operating effectiveness testing
  • Ability to articulate and defend the process used in executing risk assessments (including control design assessment and testing)
  • Thoughtfully and effectively develop recommendations for process and control enhancement/ remediation based on results of assessments performed to articulate the same to key stakeholders in a manner that promotes collaboration and acceptance
  • Detail oriented with the ability to examine and evaluate processes, controls, and issues to contribute to the successful and appropriate assessment of risk, while also understanding the bigger picture and promote the same within the team
  • Work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a broader team and organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively participate in team discussions and meetings with, key stakeholders, team members, and other groups involved in the technology risk assessment process
  • Effective project and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of risk frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, or ISO preferred
  • CRISC, CISSP, CISA or CISM or other industry-recognized risk and information assurance certifications preferred
