Position Overview:

The Personnel Security Specialist Level I will provide support as needed to the Government's personnel security specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for all aspects of the HSPD-12 PIV cards issuance, to include enrollment, activation, updates, and dips.

* Responding to inquiries received in webmail accounts and by phone, etc., pertaining to HSPD-12 PIV cards.

* Update the C-Cure database, as needed.

* Review applicant completed e-QIP forms and other related and necessary forms for the initiation of background investigations.

* Assist applicants with corrective action concerning completion/submission of personnel security documents.

* Track personnel security documents to ensure accurate processing.

* Mail documents and perform basic customer service administrative functions when applicable.

* Run fingerprints or scan as appropriate.

* Conduct NCIC checks as needed.

* Answer phones and greet visitors.

* Collect mail

* Scan/email documents when needed

* Other duties performed as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Must have (at a minimum) a current T2 Public Trust Clearance.

* One (1) year of experience using the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system.

* One (1) year of experience reviewing SF85, SF85P, and SF86 security questionnaires for completeness and accuracy and to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas potentially requiring clarification.

* One (1) year of experience using the OPM Personnel Investigations Processing System (PIPS) and the Central Verification System (CVS).

* Experience adjudicating background investigations in accordance with 5CFR731 or equivalent.

* Experience enrolling and activating applicants for HSPD-12 PIV cards.

* Excellent customer services skills.

* Excellent oral and written communications skills.

* Experience fingerprinting applicants.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Experience working with senior government management personnel

* Proficient in Microsoft applications.

* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
