The Division of Dental Hygiene at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) prepares students to become competent dental hygienists who actively participate in the improvement of the public's oral health. The UMKC program graduated its first class in 1954 and is the only program in Missouri to award a Baccalaureate degree in dental hygiene. Our graduates can function effectively as oral health care professionals working with individuals in all ages and stages of life in a constantly changing society. Graduates are prepared to use problem-solving skills to plan, implement and evaluate dental hygiene care of diverse populations while working in a variety of settings - including clinical practice, education, public health, hospital dental programs and public-school dental programs

Job Description

The School of Dentistry is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the division of Dental Hygiene.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Clinical Instruction, supervision, and evaluation of dental hygiene students in either first or second year clinic.

Part time, non-benefit eligible, unranked, academic appointee position. Hours are approximately 10 to 26 hours/week (0.25 to 0.65 FTE).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • Eligiblity for Missouri dental hygiene licensure is required

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Dental Hygiene is preferred.
