Description

$66,400.00 - 130,000.00 annually



  • Provide electrical engineering designs related to generation and transmission systems, specify electrical equipment and systems, and supervise installation, startup, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain accurate power system computer models for each power generation facility.
  • Make calculations for protective device coordination for generators, step-up transformers, and balance-of-plant electrical systems. Annually update protective device coordination database and check for coordination problems.
  • Establish, document, maintain, and ensure compliance with Reliability Standards related to electrical generators.
  • Instrumentation and Control - Designs, specifies, and develops software and hardware for new and replacement plant automated instrumentation and control systems; supervises their installation, start-up, and testing.
  • Assists in preparing budget estimates.
  • Assists in research for and writing of technical reports.
  • Consults with and provides assistance to power plant personnel on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of electrical and control systems and equipment.
  • Stays abreast of related current scientific developments and governmental regulations and uses every opportunity to become better qualified in this area of responsibility.
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Engineer I - Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Engineer II - Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Engineer III - Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SR Engineer - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Masters in Electrical Engineering or similar field, plus 7 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Driver's license. Must meet eligibility requirements to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in the State of Arkansas.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION



  • Knowledge of electric power systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of power plant processes is desirable.
  • Knowledge of automation controllers and ladder logic is desirable.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software is desirable.
