Job Summary

Kratos is looking for a qualified and experienced RF Technician to support Department of Defense customers. The RF Technician is a mid-level position who possesses a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals with working knowledge of radio frequency (RF)-based electronic systems.

Responsibilities and Duties



  • Provides engineering analysis, integration and development support
  • Develop SATCOM signal environments working with customers to meet event execution including link budget analysis
  • Develop test plans; conduct testing; interpret, document, and present the results to engineering peers, leadership, and the government customer.
  • Active communication and participation in the full SDLC leveraging Agile methodologies.
  • Reoccurring international travel to potentially austere environments for deployed system installations, upgrades and sustainment efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

Qualifications and Skills



  • Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BS or MS Degree in EE or technical degree and relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of SATCOM equipment including, but not limited to, antennas, HPAs/SSPAs, up/down-converters, LNAs, and modems
  • Experience with RF test equipment, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, O-Scope
  • Experience with cable maintenance and fabrication, CAT-5/6, Coaxial RF, AC/DC power
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings
  • Knowledge of SATCOM signals including modulation, error correction, and associated signal generation equipment. Familiarity performing link-budget analysis
  • Experience with troubleshooting systems
  • Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentation
  • Typically requires +6 years of experience, and a Graduate degree. This role also typically involves some management support and mentoring Jr. Employees/Engineers.


Desired Qualifications



  • Masteris degree in electrical engineering or relevant field (5-10) years of relevant experience in lieu of MS)
  • Familiarity with computer networks
  • Data analysis skills
  • Military experience or working in a military environment
  • DoD Test experience
  • Working knowledge of current DoD Space Control systems
