OverviewMicrosoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services. The Datacenter Engineering Modularization Design Manager will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield andretrofitengineering / designprojects. This position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the Datacenter building, power, cooling, telecom, and controls infrastructure to align with Microsoft Corporation datacenter capacity roadmap for the Americas. ResponsibilitiesThe DatacenterDesign Managerwill be responsible for thefacilitation and deliveryof Microsoft's industry-leading datacenterdesigns including the development of innovative technology and advanced concepts from Site Due Diligence through design development,permitting,construction, and the turnover toOperations. This role will provide design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadershipfor our datacenter designs. To be successful in this role the candidate will overseethedelivery ofmultiple, concurrent,completeDatacenter designsolutionsaligned with the scopes, schedules,and budgetsof the projects. TheDesignManagerwill engage with key MS stakeholder groups withinMicrosoftas well as outside vendorswhospecialize in datacenter architecture and engineering. Coordinatea team of architects, engineers and designers and deliver projects aligned with the defined scope, schedule, and budget. Haveexcellentcommunication, organization, and leadership skills. Possess a high level ofproficiencyin commercial and industrial architecture andengineeringwith a primary focus on datacenter design. Must be able to work with other technical and non-technical groups in a fast-pacedenvironmentand do sowith an even temperament.
