Position description

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for 2 critical care anesthesiology Assistant/Associate or Full Professors in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.

As critical care anesthesiologists, the successful candidates will be responsible for providing perioperative and intensive care to critically ill patients in the operating rooms, intensive care units, and non-operating room locations at UC Davis Medical Center. Responsibilities include managing critical care cases, delivering anesthesia and perioperative care, and participating in multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Additional responsibilities include participation in the general or critical care-specific call schedule, clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and service activities commensurate with academic rank. Faculty in this role may have the opportunity to serve as attending faculty in both the operating room and intensive care settings, including solo faculty assignments. In addition to clinical care, teaching and service, Health Sciences Clinical Professor series faculty engage in scholarly or creative activities which derive from and support their primary responsibilities in clinical teaching, professional and service activities, while Clinical X series faculty should have involvement in an extramurally funded research program and a publication list.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

MD/DO, graduation from an ACGME-approved residency program, graduation from an ACGME-approved critical care anesthesiology fellowship, ABA board certification or eligibility, and experience teaching medical students and/or residents and fellows.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

California Medical License by date of hire

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
