Benefits and Well-being Coordinator

The Benefits and Well-Being Coordinator supports Creighton University's mission by administering employee benefits programs, managing
leave of absence processes, and coordinating well-being initiatives. This role ensures employees have access to the resources they need to
enhance their health, financial security, and overall well-being throughout the employee experience.

Benefits Administration



  • Employee Support:

    • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions, including plan options, enrollment, eligibility, and coverage.
    • Assist new hires during onboarding by explaining benefits offerings and guiding them through the enrollment process.


  • Program Administration:

    • Maintain accurate records of benefits enrollment and changes in the HR system.
    • Coordinate open enrollment, including preparing materials, scheduling informational sessions, and providing support to employees.
    • Ensure timely processing of benefits-related tasks such as enrollment updates, COBRA notifications, and dependent coverage changes.


  • Vendor and Compliance Management:

    • Act as a liaison with benefits vendors to resolve employee issues, verify claims, and address service concerns.
    • Monitor compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, COBRA, and ACA, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and reporting.


  • Leave of Absence Management:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for employees seeking information on leave policies and options, including FMLA, parental leave, and personal leave.
    • Coordinate the leave process, including documentation review, tracking leave usage, and communicating timelines to employees and supervisors.
    • Work closely with vendors and third-party administrators for short-term disability, long-term disability, and related benefits claims.




Well-Being Coordination



  • Program Development:

    • Design and implement wellness programs that promote physical, mental, and financial well-being, tailored to employee needs.
    • Collaborate with campus partners and external vendors to create engaging well-being events, such as fitness challenges, mindfulness workshops, and financial well-being seminars.


  • Event Coordination:

    • Plan and execute well-being events, including benefits fairs, health screenings, and wellness challenges.
    • Develop marketing campaigns to promote well-being initiatives and boost participation using digital platforms and internal communication tools.
    • Deliver presentations and workshops on topics such as stress management, nutrition, and work-life balance.
    • Build a well-being resource library for employees to access tools and information.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or degree in health or behaviorial science field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration, well-being program coordination, HR, or leave of absence management.
  • Preferred: SHRM-CP, PHR, or CEBS
  • Strong understanding of wellness principles and best practices.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of wellness promotion theories, behavior change strategies, and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong partnerships across campus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity in wellness programming.
