POSITION: High Acuity Foster Care Case Management Specialist DEPARTMENT: Kansas Foster Care (Kansas City, KS) Starting Salary: $52,000 (Annually) (Starting salary depends on education and experience) Sign-on/Retention Bonus: $2,000.00 RESPONSIBILITIES: The High Acuity Foster Care Case Management Specialist reports to the Permanency Manager but enjoys a high degree of autonomy in carrying out case management services as required by contract/licensing/funding body/accreditation requirements. Using advanced knowledge in child welfare, the High Acuity Case Manager Specialist exercises discretion and independent judgment in making decisions on the overall management and delivery of services to children on their caseload, aimed at achieving safety, permanency, and well-being. The High Acuity Case Management Specialist will serve as the legal guardian of the children on their caseload, making decisions and recommendations-occasionally on an emergency basis-to ensure the safety and welfare of those children. The High Acuity Case Management Specialist will demonstrate creative service delivery, strong time management skills and excellent decision-making ability. The High Acuity Case Management Specialist provides case management services to youth and families to ensure compliance of contracts and licensing regulations. The High Acuity Case Manager will specifically provide services to approximately five youth at a time with significant behavioral health challenges, frequent placement disruptions, and/or other high acuity needs that require stabilization. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, education, counseling or psychology which includes the equivalent of 30 semester hours in either human development/human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance/counseling and child development, and at least two years of work experience in the child welfare arena. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation. ***Must be flexible with work hours, evening hours, and on-call. *** BONUS: $2,000 ($1,000.00 Sign-on Bonus will be paid on your first paycheck and the $1,000.00 Retention Bonus will be paid after 12 months of service.)
