Cornerstones of Care
What is Cornerstones of Care? This is a common question we are asked. To us, Cornerstones of Care isn’t just our name. It symbolizes something far greater. It stands for the lasting and positive impact on the safety and health of tens of thousands of children and families in communities across the region.

We partner with children, young adults and families to improve safety and health through six key service areas:
- Education
- Mental & Behavioral Health
- Foster Care & Adoption
- Youth Support
- Family Support
- Community Trainings
For the Safety and Health of our Communities.
We are dedicated to helping children and families wherever they are, whenever they need us. Our team provides in-home and in-community services throughout the region.
Community is so much more than a physical space. It represents our relationships and daily interactions and activities we share, the culture we create, our strengths and weaknesses and our hopes and dreams.
We take every aspect of community to heart as we design and deliver programs and services to improve lives. Last year, we served more than 10,000 children and families.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is the core of what we do. It honors our history, reflects our day-to-day and focuses on the future. It leads us in designing and delivering programs that improve the lives of more than 15,000 children and families each year in Kansas, Missouri and beyond.
Our Mission
Partnering for safe and healthy communities.
Our Belief
We believe children belong in families and families belong in strong communities. Every day, our dedicated staff works with hundreds of children and families to ensure they have the prevention, treatment and support services they need to heal and become more resilient for the future. When you work with us, you are positively impacting thousands of lives by helping keep children safe, families strong and communities healthy.
OUR DIVERSITY STATEMENT
We believe in communities where children, families and team members feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves and expressing all aspects of their identities – a place where each person shares a sense of belonging. We have worked with team members, clients, stakeholders and volunteers to create a diversity statement that defines our commitment to diversity, inclusion and equality.
- We partner for safe and healthy communities.
- We cultivate a culture in which children, families, team members, volunteers, donors, and community partners feel welcomed, safe, respected, empowered, and celebrated.
- We value diversity of race, religion, color, age, sex, national origin or citizenship status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, geographical location, pregnancy, disability, neurodiversity, socio-economic, and military status.
- We stand for anti-racism, equity, and inclusivity.
- We insist and affirm that discrimination and violence have no place in safe and healthy communities, including in our organization.
- We strive toward a more welcoming, inclusive, diverse, and equitable organization through our policies, partnerships, and practices.
