Description
POSITION: Lead Family Finding Advocate

DEPARTMENT: Kansas Foster Care (Kansas City, KS)

Starting Salary: $43,888- $46,000 (Annually)

(Starting salary depends on education and experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Lead Family Finding Advocate reports to the Family Finding but enjoys a high degree of autonomy in carrying out family-finding services. This position is responsible for improving Family Finding Advocate services provided to youth and families. The Lead Family Finding Advocate supports the Family Finding Manager in developing team members through training and coaching and will provide additional quality assurance through periodic case/genogram reviews, family engagement reviews, relative search techniques, and vetting and review of Family Connections documentation upon the Manager's request. The Lead Family Finding Advocate will ensure communication is maintained among team members with an emphasis on direct and open communication in addition to keeping the line of communication open with the Family Finding Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, education, counseling, or psychology which includes the equivalent of 30 semester hours in either human development/human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance/counseling, and child development, and at least two years of work experience in the Child Welfare arena. 1 year of Kansas case management experience is required. Preferred: Master's degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, education, counseling, or psychology and two years' experience in the child welfare arena with at least 6 months of Kansas case management experience. Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas (LBSW, LMSW, LSCSW, Professional Counselor, LMFT, and Alcohol and Drug Counselor). Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.
