Process Engineer Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a/an Process Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
* Assist in the implementation of the site MES system from the Operational Technology (OT) perspective, supporting the Site Project Lead and the Global Core Team with activities inherent to the application's configuration and documentation of all necessary SOPs.
* Contribute to the design, implementation and documentation of systems technology while aligning with corporate standards and industry best practices.
* Translate Product Owner requirements into application architecture thru feasibility studies, system configurations and workflow implementations, etc.
* Raise and execute change controls related to MES infrastructure.
* Provide support for the site MES system by means of solutions testing, UAT planning and troubleshooting of MES issues in coordination with the Manufacturing department, the Global Core Team and the MES vendor.
* Perform solutions and application testing including logging results in appropriate systems of record.

What You'll Do:
* Scope for next 2 projects in MES
* Gather stakeholder requirements.
* Contribute to the discovery phase for the process map for each project.
* Work with team to create value stream to see waste in the process.

What We Seek:
* Working towards bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or manufacturing engineering preferred.
* Technical proficiency in multiple software applications.
* Previous experience with SCADA, MRP/ERP (SAP preferred), MES design, integration, and continuous improvement a plus.
* Ability to acquire a Project Management Professional certification or Scrum Product Owner Certification within 3 months of start date. (LinkedIn courses)
* Experience in the management of shop-floor devices (tablet, barcode scanners, label printers) in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment
* Minimum applicable experience in manufacturing role
* Minimum project management experience in system implementation

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable project plans.
* Experience or coursework in systems integration, with a focus on MES, SCADA, or ERP solutions.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, showcasing a commitment to optimizing processes.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or manufacturing engineering preferred.
* 2026 graduation year

Eligibility:

* Must be a currently enrolled student
* Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May or June through mid-August or September
* Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in an internship program
