What this job involves - As a Labs Operation Manager, your primary responsibility will be support overseeing the day-to-day operations of a laboratory facilities services and project collaboration. Your main duties and responsibilities may include:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all lab operational issues. Monitor and maintain lab infrastructure and equipment. Oversee and manage self-performed projects executed by the Technical Services team. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, and lab users, to ensure smooth project execution. Collaborate closely with the HVAC and Electrical teams within Technical Services to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize disruptions to lab operations. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the Labs and Technical Services teams. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Represent Labs in utility shutdown requests, ensuring minimal impact on lab operations. Attend client meetings to provide operations updates for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, shutdown work, etc.Coordinate with relevant teams to schedule and execute shutdowns effectively. Understanding of equipment maintenance associated with labs such as CRAC units, CDAs, RO/DI, etc. Coordinate the repair, maintenance, and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve service delivery. Develop and implement innovative solutions to address emerging challenges. Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and comply with regulations. Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity. Support development of a preventive maintenance schedule and implement effective asset management strategies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve lab operations, streamline processes, and enhance productivity. Implement new technologies and methodologies to optimize workflow and enhance data collection and analysis capabilities. Understanding of existing site operations to incorporate feedback into project design phase. Prepare reports on performance metrics, project outcomes, and budgetary updates for management and stakeholders. Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest developments, technologies, and regulatory changes in the laboratory operations field. Participate in professional development activities and networking events to enhance knowledge and skills. To excel in this role, you should possess strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of laboratory operations and safety protocols. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in Operations, project management, facilities management, or a related field. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Experience in laboratory operations and management. Excellent leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks. Experience with building automation systems and data analytics is a plus. |
