Description

Core Responsibilities:

* Lead the expansion and sustainment of a committed quality culture throughout the value chain through influence and management skills.

* Ensure that all manufacturing and quality processes and tooling conform to customer, organizational, and governmental standards.

* Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs to produce legacy products.

* Assist the quality team with MRR and quality clinic processes.

* Manage pre-production validation package for Customer approval: First Article Inspection

or Production Part Approval Process (knowledge of AS9102 a plus).

* Ensure the centers of excellence and vendor quality systems consistently meet or exceed

customer regulatory requirements, AS-9100 Quality Management System, special

processes, and other customer specific requirements.

* Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA);

train and mentor other associates and suppliers to perform effective problem solving using

standard tools (8D, 3P and 5Why, etc.).

* Manage the quality metrics, cost of poor quality to achieve business goals and optimize return on investment.

* Lead, participate in and facilitate cross-functional teams on process control and optimization projects to stabilize and improve first passed yield; participate in other continuous improvement projects (i.e., Kaizen, Baseline, and Production Preparation Process (3P).

* Responsible for overseeing inspectors, and assisting inspectors with day-to-day processes.

* Assist Quality Manager with MRO tasks such as internal audits, customer audits, quality metric generation and reporting.

* Comfortability leading team meetings, and assisting with leadership activities.

Qualifications:

* 7-10+ year's experience in Quality in a manufacturing environment.

* Managerial experience; cross-functional experience in precision machining a plus.

* Three to five years of supervisory experience is a plus.

* CMM experience/knowledge is a plus.

* Demonstrated leadership effectiveness.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate change effectively.

* Knowledge of FAA parts 145 repair station requirements preferred.

Education Requirements:

* BA or BS in technical field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
