Cyber Security Officer
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Cyber Security Officer who will provide essential cyber security officer/ISSO capabilities in support of the 333d Training Squadron's (333 TRS) mission at the Air Force Undergraduate Cyber Warfare Training, Cyberspace Warfare Operations Apprentice Course, and Information Technology Fundamentals and advanced skills courses. This position provides cyber security and risk management framework (RMF) subject matter expertise (SME) and other essential capabilities to support the 333d TRS in order to provide initial, advanced, and supplemental cyberspace training to Air Force, joint, and coalition partners.
- Located in Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS.
Job Description:
- Plays an instrumental role in developing, communicating, implementing, and updating the information related to the security policies.
- Effective management of these responsibilities will assist in providing all the necessary and essential framework for assuring high levels of security as well as help in accomplishing technical functions.
- The cyber security officer assists in providing guidance and insight to the management personnel and help in developing strategies as well as for promoting security.
- Implementing the Risk Management Framework on multiple networks
- Implementing, documenting and maintaining all Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements
- Identifying vulnerabilities in our current network.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to secure our computing network.
- Monitoring network usage to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Keeping up to date with developments in IT security standards and threats.
- Performing penetration tests to find any flaws.
- Collaborating with management and the systems and network engineers to improve security.
- Documenting any security breaches and assessing their damage.
- Educating colleagues about security software and best practices for information security.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalate and at least 4 years in related experience.
- Must have at least of 4 years' experience in the field of information assurance and RMF processes.
- Must have strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks.
- Must have meticulous attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems.
- Must have a forensic approach to challenges.
- Must have a deep understanding of how hackers work and ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld.
- Must have the ability to seek out vulnerabilities in IT infrastructures.
- Must have a CISSP certification
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with eMASS preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active Top Secret/TS/SCI DoD security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $120,000 - $130,000 per year |
