DESCRIPTION

The UC San Diego Center for Research, Education, Innovation, and Transformation in Organ Donation (REIMAGINE) is an innovative center dedicated to addressing the critical challenges and driving transformative change in organ donation and transplantation. Anchored on four pillars-Education and Innovation, Equity and Ethics, Compassion and Wellness, and Basic and Translational Sciences-the center's current initiatives include organizing symposia, monthly research meetings, grant programs, and hands-on training, reaching both local and international audiences.

The UC San Diego Center for Research, Education, Innovation, and Transformation in Organ Donation (REIMAGINE) is seeking a full-time Administrative Director to lead and coordinate its operational and strategic initiatives. This role is crucial for advancing REIMAGINE's mission to address the organ shortage crisis through research, education, and compassion focused healthcare approaches.The Director will collaborate closely with the leadership team to set priorities, ensure that goals are met, and enhance engagement with donors, industry partners, and other stakeholders. Reporting to the leadership of the Transplant Surgery Division and the REIMAGINE Center, the Administrative Director will play a key role in shaping the future of these programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field is required. Master's or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration, ideally within organ donation and transplantation at an academic medical center.

  • Strong knowledge of research administration, compliance regulations, and grant management is preferred.

  • Advanced skills in short- and long-term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.

  • Strong experience with strategic planning, event management, and program development.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen and experience in budget development and management.

  • Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.

  • Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be willing to travel to occasional meetings and work weekends and evenings as needed.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $104,900 - $198,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $50.24 - $95.26

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
