Description
POSITION: Mental Health Provider- Early Education

DEPARTMENT: Outpatient (El Centro Academy for Children)

Starting Salary: $58,000- $64,000 (Annually)

(Starting salary depends on education and experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Join a groundbreaking early childhood mental health collective moving forward mental, emotional and behavioral care for ages birth through preschool children, families and team members at a local early childhood program, El Centro Academy for Children. The Mental Health Care Provider- Early Education reports to the Clinical Manager of Early Education. Work as part of an interdisciplinary and inter agency team. The Mental Health Care Provider will support students and families in their assigned location to address personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with development and school success. Additionally, will provide individual, family, group interventions and/or wrap-around case management support in addition to crisis management as indicated. This position will consult with, and provide professional development to, school team members and parents to increase knowledge of trauma informed interventions in the school setting to enhance understanding of trauma informed care. One method of education of trauma informed care is through the Conscious Discipline model that utilizes observation and assessment of the child as a tool to support to both teachers and parents. Play therapy will be an additional modality used. This position is a full-time twelve (12) month position per year in which the hours will be assigned by the early childhood center. Some in home and after-hours work may be required to meet needs of families.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a bachelor's degree in human behavioral science which includes 30 semester or 45 quarter hours either in development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques, such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development, familiar with implications of trauma, attachment and diversity, 3-5 years of experience working with this population and bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or as a licensed professional counselor, professional licensure (e.g. LMSW, PLPC, LMFT), trained in Conscious Discipline (will be trained), and master's level Play Therapy Certification (will be trained) preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.

BONUS: $4,600 ($2,000 sign on bonus will be paid on your first paycheck and $2,600 retention bonus will be paid after 12 months of service)
