Job Summary

The School of Mathematics & Engineering is seeking an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering Technology (1 position available) to begin Fall 2025.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology; Or Associate degree in Engineering Technology and 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics Certifications with 15 years experience in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or Electronics.

Teaching Experience: Proven success in navigating various teaching modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and fully asynchronous online formats. Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level with a focus on the specified subject areas.

Expertise in the Subject Matter:
In-depth knowledge and expertise in the subjects being taught, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Practical experience in the application of Electronics, Hydraulics, PLC, AC/DC analytics, Amplifiers, and Wireless Communications concepts in real-world scenarios.

Pedagogical Innovation: Demonstrated commitment to innovative teaching methods, with a focus on experiential learning and the integration of real-world examples. Ability to incorporate cutting-edge educational technologies and tools to enhance the learning experience.

Engagement and Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students in diverse learning environments. Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and collaboration.

Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to navigate different teaching modalities and adjust instructional strategies based on the needs of the students and the format of the course.

Industry Experience: Practical industry experience in one or more of the specified areas, demonstrating a connection between academic knowledge and real-world applications.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement: A commitment to staying current with industry trends, educational best practices, and advancements in the field, with a willingness to continuously improve teaching methodologies.

Innovation in Classroom Pedagogy:
A track record of integrating innovative teaching practices, such as project-based learning, case studies, and collaborative activities, to enhance the educational experience. By possessing these qualifications and characteristics, the ideal candidate would be well-equipped to deliver high-quality education in the specified areas and contribute to the overall success of the academic program.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related Master's degree with 5 years related work experience, certifications to include professional licensure; or 18 graduate-level hours in a related Master's degree with 5 years related work experience, certifications to include professional licensure.

Prefer teaching experience at the community college or university level.
