This posting is intended for nursing graduates interested in the Perioperative (Operating Room) Residency at Lankenau Medical Center. Position: Nurse Residency/Perioperative Fellowship: tentative start date of Aug/Sept 2025 Eligibility: All applicants must be a graduate of a Diploma, ASN or BSN program May 2025 or December 2024. Deadline to apply: January 31, 2025 Applicants who applied to the general nurse residency requisition and listed the OR as their top choice will also be considered! Department: Operating Room Shift/Hours: 40 hours/week: Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Off-shift rotations occur later in orientation to experience different shifts as well as Buddy-call Benefits: Eligible for full time benefit coverage. Holidays: Rotational (eligible for holiday time). The Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to ease the transition to practice for the new graduate nurse in their first professional role. Emphasis is given to nursing leadership behaviors, nurse driven outcomes and professional development. The curriculum is designed to enhance the graduates' critical thinking skills and their ability to use outcome data to promote patient safety. The Perioperative Residency- Fellowship is a 6 - 9 month specialty training program that Main Line Health offers to train Nurse Residents to become Operating Room Nurses. This program is facilitated by MLH Operating Room Clinical Nurse Educators and is supported by unit preceptors, coordinators, and managers. As a Nurse Resident in the Perioperative Fellowship Program, you will learn both the circulating and scrub role as you rotate through specialties including: General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Plastics, Cardiac, Vascular, Bariatric, Trauma, Robotics, etc. Each week, you will build on basic skills as you follow didactic modules to match your weekly goals. Nurse Residents will also attend in-services and staff meetings. At the end of the course, all participants must sit for the Periop 101 exam. (You may be required to purchase some educational materials, such as a textbook.) Qualifications o Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited RN or BSN program May 2025 or December 2024. o RN (ASN) graduates must be actively enrolled in a BSN program within 6 months of their start date and obtain a BSN within 2 years of their start date. o Obtained a preferred 2.8 cumulative GPA. *Applicants who have graduated May 2025 or December 2024 from their nursing program and have less than one year nursing experience in a non-acute or acute care setting are welcome to apply.
