This is a By Agreement Contract position for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The University of California San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Coach - Men's and Women's Fencing (Epee). UC San Diego, located in La Jolla, in the San Diego Metropolitan area, enrolls over 35,000 students, earned recognition as one of the world's premier research universities, and is ranked as one of the top-10 public universities in the nation. UC San Diego Athletics has a proud tradition of academic and athletic excellence, sponsors 24 varsity sports, and is a member of the Big West Conference. Collaborate with the Head Coach to guide and mentor scholar-athletes in competitive collegiate fencing. Assist in developing training programs, organizing practices, and providing technical instruction to enhance athletes' skills and performance. Foster a positive team environment, motivate athletes, and contribute to their overall growth both on and off the strip. Key element of the job is to provide private lessons on a weekly basis, specific to the assigned weapon, to each scholar athlete. The incumbent must follow the athletic philosophy consistent with that of the UC San Diego Athletic Department and a commitment to diversity in all of its forms. QUALIFICATIONS
