Lead Superintendent

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Lead Superintendent to join our team out of our project site near Leawood, Kansas.

In this role, you will lead construction site activities, manage all field operations, and take primary responsibility for site safety.

What You'll Do

• Establish an IPS site office and supporting utilities/logistics.
• Assist Subcontractors in locating office and storage trailers on site.
• Include integrated security turnstile for site security enforcement.
• Maintain clear traffic access ways and material delivery routes/areas.
• Monitor insurance certificate status in coordination with the Site Safety Engineer and Insurance Log
• Provide constructability review comments relative to preliminary "check set" documents as well as final Contract Documents.
• Perform daily inspections on-site for all work within the area of responsibility.
• Review the Subcontractors' monthly Estimate for Payment progress billings and offer comments to the Project Manager.
• Report Deviation Ticket costs in conjunction with monthly payment applications.
• Inspect delivered materials, equipment, and field installations for compliance with Contract Documents and approved submittals.
• Identify all field testing required to be performed by Subcontractors and witnessed by IPS.
• Establish daily dialog with Subcontractor Safety Representatives/Shop Stewards.
• Promptly communicate site safety incidents to the Site Safety Engineer and IPS Management Staff.
• Ensure that OSHA forms and records are posted as required, and coordinate with the Site Safety Engineer.
• Oversees commissioning activities if included in the project scope.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
• 15+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline.

Safety

• You must be willing to travel.
  • You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
• You may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
• Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible depending on the assignment.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.
• The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
