ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is hiring Electricians to join our Operations Services team located at our Fort Liberty Facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This position is onsite.
The Electrician will provide electrical maintenance, installation, repair, vendor coordination, and related services at Fort Liberty Facility operated by ESG.
The essential functions of the position include:
- Maintain electrical installation knowledge to provide technical expertise as a competent and qualified person
- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance between plant management and subcontractors
- Coordinate repairs with vendors between management outside of service contract scope of works
- Support subcontractors through operations and knowledge of the plant electrical distribution system
- Respond to emergency calls due to power outages or system failures
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment not covered by service contracts, where appropriate
- Assist plant operators and mechanics with work orders and on-site vendors
- Perform daily rounds and inspections. Observe and report abnormalities
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical systems as needed. This may include conduit and wiring
- Operate and maintain electrical switching and racking safety devices
- Occasional work at heights more than 70 feet and/or in confined spaces
- Operation of motorized equipment including, but not limited to, fork lifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, zero turn riding mower, portable generators, weed trimmers, portable leaf blowers, snow removal equipment, etc
- Ability to work after hours for service/emergency calls to maintain working equipment
- Communicate with supervisors/management as to job progress and issues of assigned work
- Responsible for safe work practices and implementation of operational excellence
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis as required
- Enforce all safety requirements including, but not limited to:
- Issues work permits in compliance with safe work practices and ensures contractor safety
- Perform random security inspections and various security checks around the plants
- Perform Lockout/Tagout of all facility equipment
- Work in confined spaces and perform confined space entry
- Wear a Fall Protection when conditions require
- Operate a man lift or scissor lift and forklift safely
- Always use appropriate PPE
- Above all work safely and comply with all OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area (requiring cleaning of non-office areas and maintaining the cleanliness of the Control Rooms and plants)
- Understand electrical code requirements
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
Your background includes:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Three to five (3-5) years' work experience as electrician
A bonus to have:
- Associate's degree (AA or AS) or technical degree
- Six to eight (6-8) years' related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
