Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking an intermediate level engineer/scientist to fill an immediate opening for a data analyst position. The ideal candidate will have experience/expertise with electro-optical and infrared data analysis (EO/IR), image processing, and uncertainty analysis. The Data Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, interpretation, and algorithm development to support data reduction from customer test events. A well-suited candidate will be self-motivated, with demonstrated communication skills (oral and written) and capable of working both in a small team and unsupervised.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze EO/IR sensor data, including target detection, tracking, filtering, and signature analysis.
• Perform sensor data fusion and uncertainty analysis.
• Support multi-spectral sensor calibration and characterization.
• Analyze algorithms and their interaction to improve performance.
• Interpret data, identifying trends, and analyze results using statistical techniques.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar).
• At least 5 years of experience in EO/IR data analysis, image processing, and statistical analysis.
• At least 5 years of experience with data processing software and tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Java, or other relevant tools).
• Strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance is required.
